UPDATE! I'm not loving this laptop anymore!
By Brenda
(see end of review for update) I purchased a Lenovo with similar specs, but Windows 8 and it had very bad sound so I had to send it back. I've had this very laptop purchased from this seller for 2 days and I LOVE it! It might help you to know that it runs Minecraft on all the highest settings very smoothly. It also runs Skyrim on High very smoothly. I tried ultra, and while it does run, it can be a little jerky. No matter, you can't tell a difference between those two settings anyway. It also comes with Windows 7 which I'm very pleased about. The sound is SUPERB! Best sound I've ever had out of a laptop. I'm a tech geek, so I've had plenty of computers. This laptop also has excellent microphone sound IF you plug a microphone in. The onboard mic is passable if you need to skype someone or something, but it's not great. No onboard mics really are. Also the soundcard on this laptop DOES have stereo mix. That was important for me to know because I'm a sing and plug a mixer into my laptop to record my music. All in all it is a fantastic laptop.
Con: The only con I've found is the fan is pretty loud compared to other laptops I've seen. But it doesn't get very hot, so that is worth the sound.
I would buy it again and at this price point (currently under one hundred dollars) it is the best value you will find for a gaming laptop. I have no problem calling it a gaming laptop.
Update 10-30-2013:
I had to call tech support because the computer started freezing up whenever I would play a game or render video. Anything involving the nvidia video card instead of the intel one. The first time I called the boy (he sounded like a teen) told me to "run some diagnostics and try to figure out the problem then call us back when you know what it might be"... huh? So I did. Now I should have said no you are the tech, you do it. But I didn't. Today I called back and said I'm pretty sure it's the graphics card and they guy I spoke to said yeah it probably is and gave me an RMA number. Now I have had this laptop 1 month and it is under warranty for 2 more years and they are making ME pay shipping! So I have to pay to ship it to them and then they said it will take 15 to 30 days to repair it! I will NEVER buy an MSI again.

Great for the price.
By Ravinac
I had to get a new laptop fast because my old Asus fried on me right before I got deployed, so I needed a replacement and fast. After a few hours of surfing the web I found this one. It had a good processor, a decent sized harddrive, a good graphics card, and plenty of ram. But the important part was would it get here before I had to leave? The answer was yes, I used 2 day shipping and it actually shipped the day I ordered it so it got here the very next day.
Pros
Now that I have had it for a few days and have been able to play around with it for a bit I can say with confidence that this laptop was worth the money. It plays all of my games, though not always on the ultra high settings it will play them smoothly on high every time. It's fast and energy efficient, the processor sits at 2.4Ghz unless it needs more then it will jump up to 3.4Ghz giving it a nice boost. The battery lasts about 3 to 3.5 hours under light use and about 2.5 under heavy use. Set up was easy, it's just following a few directions on the screen and it set's it up for you.
Cons
It does have a few draw backs but not many. The first one that I found was when I paired my Iphone to the bluetooth to play the music through the computers speakers, it bluescreened. It will do this each time I try, I'm looking for a fix and other bluetooth devices still work it's just the Iphone. The second is not so much a con as it is just kinda weird. It seems to be partitioned like it has 2 hard drives and as far as I can tell it only has one. I still 750GB total but its on 2 drives. Like I said not really a con just weird. The next is that it comes with a lot of junk software that you don't need. Easy enough to delete, but a waist of space in my opinion.
Edit: I have fixed the problem with the Bluetooth and it is working fine

I returned it.
By Nabil
It was powerful, but it felt a bit cheap. My thought of it being cheap was further reinforced when I had to restore the laptop to factory settings on the second day of owning it. Lastly, it struggled to connect to my WiFi. I returned the laptop and bought an alien ware laptop on sale for almost the same price and it feels almost twice as nice.
Pros:
Gaming
Cons:
Keyboard Layout
WiFi Connectivity
